Meet Attorney Danielle Brent
I am a Winston-Salem native, attorney, entrepreneur, mother, and the founder of Her Legacy Law formerly Brent Bownes Law, PLLC.
I founded my law firm in 2018 with a commitment to providing culturally conscious legal representation to Women Entrepreneurs and other individuals who are often overlooked or underserved by the legal industry.
Like many of my clients, I built my business from the ground up. I understand the daily grind, difficult decisions, calculated risks, and faith required to pursue a vision. That experience allows me to approach my clients’ legal needs with both professional knowledge and a genuine understanding of the entrepreneurial journey.
Over the past eight years, my firm has helped hundreds of clients start their businesses, successfully register their trademarks, enter into contracts, and create strong legal foundations for their ideas. I am proud to have helped entrepreneurs turn their visions into businesses and their names, logos, and creative ideas into legally protected assets.
As the firm and my clients grew, I began thinking beyond the businesses and brands in front of me. I started asking a bigger question: What happens to everything we work so hard to build?
That question became the foundation for Her Legacy Law.
Her Legacy Law reflects the natural growth of my work and purpose. Today, the firm serves entrepreneurs, individuals, and families through business law, intellectual property, and estate planning. This expanded mission recognizes that every business is connected to a person, a family, and a future worth preserving.
As an entrepreneur and mother, legacy is personal to me. I know what it means to build with someone else’s future in mind. I also understand that legal services can feel intimidating or disconnected from the communities they are intended to serve. My goal is to make the law clear, approachable, and useful so my clients can make informed decisions with confidence.
In 2025, I was honored as one of Black Business Ink’s Triad 40 Under 40 in recognition of my professional accomplishments and commitment to the community. I have also volunteered as a Guardian ad Litem and with Legal Aid of North Carolina to assist low-income business owners. I am a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association, Forsyth County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
After eight years in business and hundreds of clients served, I am proud to enter this next chapter with a name and mission that reflect the full vision for my firm: helping you build, protect, and preserve your legacy.

I opened Her Legacy Law Firm in 2018 and have spent the years since building a practice that is as serious about your brand as you are. My clients are beauty founders, apparel designers, service providers, coaches, digital product creators, and solopreneurs who have poured everything into what they are building. They deserve an attorney who treats that investment accordingly.

Her Legacy Law Firm is a solo practice and that is intentional. When you hire me, you work with me. There is no hand-off to a paralegal, no associate who handles your file while I focus elsewhere. I personally manage every client relationship and every case.
That model works because I built it to work. A virtual-first practice since 2018 long before remote legal services became the norm I serve clients across the country from my office in Greensboro, North Carolina. Wherever you are building your business, I can help you protect it.
